John G. Davis

Project Manager

Value Delivered

John's early involvement in a project ensures consistent delivery of dependable, high-quality heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems that meet clients' most demanding expectations. As leader of the firm's design/build effort, he works with other members of the construction team to design high-performing HVAC systems, specify and purchase key system equipment, and plan and manage efficient installation. He also maintains schedules and controls costs to ensure on-time, within-budget project completion. After a system has been installed, he evaluates equipment and system performance to ensure peak operation, maximum reliability and enduring value.

Expertise

John has nearly 20 years of HVAC engineering experience. His wide-ranging expertise encompasses such areas as system design, product development, parts and materials specification, testing and quality assurance, direct customer consulting, project management, technical sales support and training, and field troubleshooting.

After a stint with A. Epstein & Sons International, where he designed HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, John joined ITT Bell & Gossett as a senior product engineer. In this role, he designed and engineered variable-speed chilled-water pumping packages for both domestic and international markets. From Bell & Gossett, he moved to Trane®. There, as a program manager/development engineer, he designed DX refrigeration systems for commercial unitary equipment and applied his leadership, technical communication and organizational skills to nurture strong, effective global product development teams. Before joining EMCOR, he was engineering manager/product line manager for Research Products Corporation, a position in which he developed his knowledge of residential building science and HVAC systems.

John holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State, as well as master's degrees in engineering from Purdue and engineering management from Northwestern. A registered professional engineer in the State of Wisconsin, he is a certified ISO 9001 auditor and Six Sigma Black Belt. He is also certified by the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute to design and install residential mechanical ventilation systems. John is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

The Personal Side

Married with two children, John enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. In addition to being an avid Green Bay Packers fan, he likes to read, participate in outdoor activities and volunteer in the community.
