Andy FedorSpecial Projects Manager |
Value Delivered
Andy's organization performs unique retrofit and other projects, many of which require sensitive security clearances and/or special training for working around delicate technologies and processes. Since these are generally fast-track projects, Andy trains and manages his crews for rapid response and high-level efficiency. In this capacity he is responsible for all project phases - business development, design/build and “plan & spec” estimates and proposals, system designs and approvals, contract reviews, equipment leasing and/or acquisition, purchase order management, scheduling, crew selection and briefing, as well as billing and receivables tracking.
Expertise
During his 22 years in the industry, Andy's expertise has expanded to cover nearly every aspect of the business. His career began when he enrolled in a four-year environmental systems technician program run jointly by the local Sheetmetal Workers International Association (SWIA) and Waukasha College. The program combined courses in every aspect of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, including design, refrigeration, and controls, with an on-the-job apprenticeship program. Upon completing the program as a journeyman, he began a 10-year stint with a local contractor, doing everything from sales and estimates to equipment installation and fabrication, a range of responsibilities he has continued to handle with Kilgust.
As a result, Andy's expertise is both broad and deep. What sets him apart is his ability to bring it all together in a successful business model. It's a model that combines a sense of urgency, effective organizational skills, and efficient communications with flexibility and the capacity to consistently develop real solutions for real-world problems.
In addition to two years of technical training at Madison Area Technical College and various business courses at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Andy participates regularly in educational programs through the Madison Mechanical Contractors' Association. A certified CPR administrator, he is licensed in Wisconsin as a heating contractor, and as both a refrigerant reclamation and refrigerant handling technician.
The Personal Side
Andy is married and the father of two daughters. In addition to hiking, fishing, and bow hunting, he enjoys working on remodeling and other home improvement projects.
