Rich is responsible for ensuring that Kilgust performs every project according to the highest quality standards and to the client's total satisfaction. At project startup, he reviews and coordinates such items as orders, equipment submittals, and construction plans. He then tracks project progress to make sure that schedule and budget commitments are faithfully maintained. Finally, he oversees the closeout process to confirm that all systems have been properly adjusted and are operating according to today's high-performance standards.

 

Expertise

Rich has built his expertise upon a solid foundation of extensive mechanical systems experience. After working in the parts department of a local heating contractor, he became a field installer of heating and cooling equipment. He then moved on to service, where Kilgust quickly recognized his unique aptitude for handling commissioning and closeouts. Due to his experience and leadership, he has specialized in commissioning ever since.

 

The mechanical systems expertise he developed over the years now plays a key role in his success. To every project, he brings his substantial knowledge of boilers and air-handling units, as well as cooling towers and their internal chemical treatment operations.

 

Furthermore, Rich keeps his knowledge up to date by attending various manufacturer and professional seminars on such topics as thermal solution boilers, chiller operations, and systems for mission-critical environments.

 

Rich's educational background includes a four-year apprenticeship with Sheet Metal Workers Local 18, which led to his certification as an environmental systems technician.

 

The Personal Side

Rich is married and the father of two boys. When he's not on the job, he enjoys outdoor activities, such as golf and hunting.
